"History of Beyhaqi" is the great and unique fruit of a golden period in the history of literature of this region. Beyhaghi gives a documentary narrative and a believable story by emphasizing observation and staying bound to the narrators' point of view and recording the details of the scenes and quotes and conversations of the people involved in the story. He does not have a good middle ground with fairy tales and fantasy. The greatness of his work broke the narrow format of history and brought his history into the realm of "literature" and "novel".

« تاریخ بیهقی » ثمره ی عالی و بی مانند یک دوره ی طلائی در تاریخ ادبیات این مرز و بوم است. بیهقی با تاکید بر مشاهده و مقید ماندن به دیدگاه راویان و ثبت جزئیات صحنه ها و نقل نامه ها و گفت و گوهای افراد درگیر در ماجرا ، روایتی مستند و داستانی باورکردنی به دست می دهد. او با افسانه پردازی و خیالبافی میانه ی خوبی ندارد . عظمت کار او قالب تنگ تاریخ را شکست و تاریخ او را به قلمرو « ادبیات » و « رمان » وارد کرد.
