This book is written by "Richard William Southern", an English specialist in medieval history, a researcher of English history, and a prominent professor at Oxford University. The sociological approach to history and attention to the social and cultural history of the West is one of Roshan Southern's distinctive features. In this book, the author fairly and scientifically examines the evolution of Europe's attitude towards Islam between the 10th and 16th centuries.
