Bozorg Alavi and Bahram Sadeghi have nothing in common. One was sociable, the other was not. One was a member of friendship and camaraderie, the other was a fugitive from every club. One was from Modara, the other was not. One liked to write a novel and wrote short stories, and the other had no intention of writing a novel. What was wrong with it? The main story was a story and we both know that they were storytellers. But time did not give any of them enough opportunities... and this is perhaps another common feature that can be found between these two people. No, just maybe. Yes, without a doubt. Provided that we look at the times they went through and their achievements both closely and carefully.

بزرگ علوی و بهرام صادقی هیچ شباهتی به هم ندارند. یکی اهل معاشرت بود، دیگری نبود. یکی اهل محفل و دوستی و رفاقت بود، دیگری از هر محفل و دار و دسته‌ای فراری بود. یکی اهل مُدارا بود، دیگری نبود. یکی دوست داشت رمان بنویسد و داستان‌ کوتاه می‌نوشت و آن دیگری سودای رمان در سر نداشت. چه عیبی داشت؟ اصل ماجرا قصّه بود و هر دو می‌دانیم قصّه‌گو بودند. اما زمانه به هیچ کدام فرصت کافی نداد... و این هم شاید وجه مشترک دیگری‌ باشد که می‌شود میان این دو نفر پیدا کرد. نه فقط شاید. بل که لابد و بدون شک. به شرطی که به روزگاری که از سر گذراندند و به دستاوردهای هر دو از نزدیک و به دقّت نگاه کنیم.
