This book is a corrected edition of the first volume of Sharafnameh Muniri, also known as "Farang Ibrahimi," by the Indian poet Ibrahim Farooqi. The correction was based on four copies. The compiler begins with three Mathnawis (31 verses each) in praise of God, the Prophet, and Sharafuddin Ahmad Muniri, an Indian sheikh. Following the preface is a chapter on the Persian alphabet and its grammatical functions, illustrated with verses. The author also discusses letters absent in Persian and Turkish, the difference between dal and dhaal, madaf and musaf, and provides an account of abjad. He emphasizes the unique value of studying the meanings of letters. The dictionary is organized by the first letter of the word for the main chapter, and then by the last letter within each chapter. Entries include examples from early Persian poets of Iran and India up to the time of the Sharafnameh, with poets named more frequently than their poems quoted. The dictionary contains approximately ten thousand words, primarily Persian.

این کتاب، تصحیحی است از جلد نخست شرف‌نامه‌ی منیری یا "فرهنگ ابراهیمی" به قلم یکی از شعرای هندوستان با نام "ابراهیم فاروقی"، به نگارش درآمده است. این تصحیح با استفاده از چهار نسخه صورت پذیرفته است. گردآورنده در آغاز کتاب، سه مثنوی در سپاس خدای یکتا و درود پیامبر و ستایش شرف‌الدین احمد منیری یکی از مشایخ هندوستان سروده که هریک دارای سی و یک بیت و در بحر متقارب است. پس از دیباچه، "باب حروف المعانی و الفواید"، درباره‌ی الفبای فارسی و نقش هریک از آن‌ها در دستورزبان فارسی آغاز می‌شود و نویسنده کاربرد هرکدام را با آوردن یک بیت، نشانی داده است. هم‌چنین درباره‌ی حروفی که در فارسی نمی‌آید، حروفی که در ترکی نمی‌آید، فرق دال و ذال، مضاف و موصوف، سخن گفته و پس از آن حساب جهل (ابجد، هوز...) را در بخشی جداگانه برشمرده است. در پایان این باب، بررسی درباره‌ی معانی حروف را ویژه‌ی کوشش خود دانسته است. واژه‌نامه به ترتیب نخستین حرف واژه برای باب و بازپسین حرف برای فصل همان باب، گردآوری شده است. بیش‌تر واژه‌ها با شاهد مثال ذکر شده که این شواهد از نخستین شاعران پارسی‌‌گوی ایران و هند تا دوره‌ی نگارش شرف‌نامه است که نام آن‌ها بیش از سروده‌هایشان یاد شده است. این فرهنگ حدود ده‌هزار واژه دارد که بیش‌تر آن‌ها فارسی است.
