From the text of the book From Heidegger to Gadamer is a research on the history and meaning of "hermeneutics" from the beginning to Martin Heidegger and especially Hans-Georg Gadamer. Jean Gronden, the author of the book, in addition to writing his doctoral thesis under Gadamer's guidance, had a special relationship with Gadamer, in this book, first, in a detailed chapter, he describes the history of the hermeneutic tradition of the West and its relationship with the "discourse" tradition. And, after that, in two chapters, he conducts insightful and brilliant research on Heidegger's hermeneutics and his philosophical project in general, to prepare the ground for "determining the position of Gadamer's hermeneutics from Heidegger's point of view". Then, in the fourth to tenth chapters, he gives an in-depth description of the main elements of Gadamer's "philosophical hermeneutics" - based on the discussion of its main pillars such as language, understanding, truth, art, play, feast, rituals, and the inner ear. Finally, it concludes the book by examining the place of Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics in the French world, and especially his relationship with philosophers such as Ricoeur and Derrida.
