Myths live among the mass of people until the day they are related to the tangible and practical life of their society and the day they do not adapt to these conditions, they will leave the life of the mass of people and from then on in intellectual life, in literature, culture, and studies. And these can enter and continue to live. They are no longer read in coffee houses, soldiers no longer read the Shahnameh on the battlefield, and mothers may tell their children other stories because the situation has changed. The only point is that I don't consider this to be a regrettable issue, this is the destiny of myth life.

اسطوره‌ها تا روزی که با زندگی محسوس و عملی جامعه خود مربوط باشند در میان توده مردم حیات دارند، و روزی که با این شرایط تطبیق نکنند، از زندگی توده مردم خارج می‌شوند و از آن به بعد در زندگی روشنفکرانه، در ادبیات، فرهنگ، مطالعات و این‌ها می‌توانند وارد بشوند و ادامه حیات بدهند. آنها را دیگر توی قهوه‌خانه‌ها نمی‌خوانند، دیگر سربازها در میدان جنگ شاهنامه نمی‌خوانند، دیگر مادرها ممکن است برای بچه‌هایشان احیانا قصه‌های دیگری را تعریف بکنند، برای این‌که شرایط تغییر کرده است. بحث فقط سر این است که من این را مسئله قابل تاسف نمی‌دانم، این جبر زندگی اسطوره است.
