The upcoming essay aims to examine the relationship of Ali Hatami's cinema with modernity and modernism in his cinematic representations through the mediation of Kamal al-Mulk by crossing the lines and orientations that Ali Hatami's cinema has in facing Iranian tradition and culture. . Also, he digs into a period of history that Hatami was interested in (the Qajar period and the early Pahlavi period) and tries to examine some elements of modernity that are present and absent in his cinema; An approach that can be extended to all of his works, and even in a broader project, the relationship between modernity and cinema can be examined in the works of other contemporaries. In other words, this essay is not a conventional film review, but an examination of Ali Hatami's opinions and historical orientations in the face of history.
