Which presuppositions, foundations, and principles are the basis of social analysis will determine the way of knowing, understanding, and analyzing the nature of social events. Analyzing the school of nominalism is important from at least two aspects: firstly, because the nature of this socio-philosophical school is not well known to social scientists in Iran, and getting a clearer picture of it can compensate for this deficiency; Second, despite this unfamiliarity, nominalism has now become one of the most important and widely used ontological and epistemological schools in the study of human and social phenomena and issues. Also, although a significant part of the theoretical approaches and research conducted in the humanities and social sciences are based on nominalism; there is no denying this fact, and even this issue is denied. Regarding the role of nominalism, it is enough that it has caused the discredit and isolation of the social thing and the associated knowledge guilds, and on the other hand, it has caused the growing growth of atomism and individual-centered discourses.
