Bah khānah bīyā: Persian 1401

Two half-sisters named Afia and Essie are born in two different villages in Ghana. Afia marries an English man and lives a comfortable life in the luxurious rooms of Cape Coast Castle. But Afia does not know that her sister Essie was imprisoned in the dungeons of this castle, along with thousands of other people, she was sold in the slave market and taken to America. Part of the narrative of Khanehrovan's novel deals with the story of Afia's descendants during centuries of war in Ghana. The other part of the story tells the life of Essie and her children in America. By presenting a very attractive and impressive story, Khanehrovan's book has an interesting treatment of history, and with exemplary sharpness and delicacy, it deals with the issue of how the memories of the wounds of slavery and captivity are recorded in the soul and mind of a nation.
