Her past has made her a lonely and depressed girl... Eileen was one of the six finalists for the Man Booker literary prize. Atusa Mushfiq, who previously received many literary awards, including; Awarded the McGlow Award, the Hemingway Foundation Award, and the David Foster Wallace Memorial Award, in this work, with its detailed descriptions, it has well depicted the sad and gloomy atmosphere of the days after World War II. He delicately reveals Eileen's confused thoughts and fantasies; "My name was Eileen Dunlap. I was twenty-four years old and had a job that earned me fifty-two dollars a week as a secretary in a boarding school for teenage boys. Delvin Morehead is the name of the owner of a haunted house I had years ago, so I think it's more appropriate to use his name for a place like this.
