Gurban Mohammad Sardar (1862-1938), known as Khan Junid, is one of the greatest Turkmen political and military leaders in the early years of the 20th century. He was forced to flee to Iran in the spring of 1307 after ten-twelve years of a relentless struggle against the Russians for the freedom of his country, which started from the last years of the tsarist rule until the establishment of the authority of the successor of the Bolshevik tsars over Khwarezm and Vararud. What is being presented now is a report of his life in the Turkmen desert and Khorasan until the end of the winter of the same year, when it was also full of war and controversy.
