Hans-Georg Gadamer (1900-2002), a German-speaking philosopher, is one of the outstanding students of Martin Heidegger (1889-1976), another great German-speaking philosopher and the author of the great work "Being and Time", and the initiator of the Path of "philosophical hermeneutics". Philosophical hermeneutics is one of the branches of hermeneutics or the science of interpretation. The science of hermeneutics, the subject of which is the interpretation and interpretation of the text, both written and unwritten, has a lifespan of several thousand years, but philosophical hermeneutics matured in the middle of the 20th century and is characterized by the careful examination of the nature of "understanding". Unlike the pioneers of hermeneutics who were looking for the principles of correct understanding of the text and determining a special method for this work, Gadamer, with a narrow eye on the late legacy of his teacher, Heidegger, as well as a critical look at his predecessors, such as Friedrich Schleiermacher (1834-1768) and Wilhelm Dilthey (1911-1833), sought to describe the nature of understanding itself. In writing his fundamental work, "Truth and Method", the first edition of which was published in 1960, he devoted all his efforts to this work and thus had a great impact on the study of art and literature.
