In the Night of ISIS, author Sophie Kasicki is a teacher in the suburbs of Paris. When three boys she knows leave France to fight in Syria, Sophie hopes to convince them to return, but the opposite happens. In the midst of personal questions, Sophie allows herself to be captured by their political discourse, seeking to give meaning to her life. Sophie Kasiki was born in 1982 in sub-Saharan Africa. He was eight years old when his mother died and he was sent to France to live with his older sister in the Paris area.
