Criminology has a fascinating history. The history of criminology is the story of systematic human efforts to study and understand the capacity for crime and human bias. The history of criminology provides a moral description of modernity and provides an insight that reveals the central meaning and the meaning of humanity in our times. The original works of the thinkers introduced in the book are largely familiar to criminology specialists, but the stories behind their thoughts are less so. The profiles depicted may change the way we think about the field of study and the beliefs that have shaped it.
