The first chapter is about Hidayat's behaviour and in the second chapter his writing is criticised. From accessible to his effect and in different genres that he has written, from fiction to novel till log and painting and poem, from translating Kafka's stories to translating Pahlavi texts. The third chapter is his biography. In the other chapter there is samples of his prose and in the last chapters are notes, bibliography, contents and etc.

اين كتاب پس از يادداشت مولف در بخش اول به خلق و خوي هدايت مي پردازد و در بخش دوم نويسندگي هدايت مورد كند و كاو قرار مي گيرد. از تاثير پذيري تا تاثير او و در ژانرهاي مختلفي كه هدايت قلم زده، از داستان و رمان گرفته تا سفرنامه و نقاشي و شعر، از ترجمه داستان هاي كافكا تا ترجمه متون پهلوي. بخش سوم كتاب زندگينامه هدايت است از دوران كودكي تا خودكشي در پاريس. در فصل ديگر نمونه هايي از نثر هدايت آمده و در فصل هاي پاياني يادداشت ها، كتابنامه، فهرست اعلام و ... آمده است. عكس هاي كتاب با كاغذ گلاسه مي باشد.
