In this story Asad Al-lah is the son of Dr. Baharlu and Nargis Khatun who lost her mother when he was six years old and her aunt Liyli grows him up. After two years Liyli born a girl named Laya. Liyli as a tradition wrote the names of Asad Al-lah and Laya beside each other. Asad Al-lah after graduating from high school decided to go to France to continue his study and Laya because of being away from him involved with a psychic illness and starts painting. After Asad Al-lah return to Iran they marry. Laya's close friend, Misha, who works for a Russian professor helps approximately treat her illness...

در اين داستان اسدالله پسر دكتر بهارلو و نرگس خاتون است كه در شش سالگي، مادرش را بر اثر بيماري سل از دست مي دهد و خاله اش ليلي سرپرستي او را به عهده مي گيرد. خاله ليلي بعد از دو سال صاحب دختري به نام لعيا مي شود و به رسم آن زمان نام اين دو را كنار هم مي نويسد. اسدالله پس از گرفتن ديپلم براي ادامه تحصيا راهي فرانسه مي شود و لعيا بر اثر عشقي كه به اسدالله دارد از دوري او دچار ناراحتي روحي مي شود و به نقاشي پناه مي برد. پس از بازگشت اسدالله به ايران با لعيا ازدواج مي كند و به كمك ميشا دوست قديمي لعيا كه دستيار پروفسوري روسي است بيماري روحي لعيا را تا حدودي مداوا مي نمايد...
