If we look at the historical cities of Iran, we see walled oases that, with the exception of the compressed space in between, divide the world into the space of presence and the outside as total otherness. How does such a social form cultivate civility in itself? This book named this social entity "Walled Society" and raises questions about it: How does the polarity of space make us and others? What is the mechanism of its governance and what is the moral orbit of its citizens? This work is a research in the field of cultural studies and historical sociology of space to bring what is categorized in dumb concepts such as traditional and oriental society and the like to the area of differences and relationships for an analytical understanding.
