Not much has been written about Jalal Al-Ahmad and his works, but what we have come up with is of a different color. All my colleagues in this book are engaged in criticizing and rereading some of his works based on new literary theories. I have addressed the strains and dimensions of this author's works that others have neglected. I have tried not to be intimidated by what has been written about him rightly or wrongly, and to examine the low and high, the shadow and the light of his mentality as I have understood.
