The collection "History of Iran: Another Narrative", written by Behzad Karimi, includes a review of the history of Iran with a fresh perspective and relies on reliable sources and accepted methods in historical research. The main feature of this collection is having an all-round, cultural, and critical look at the events of Iran's history in the field of cultural Iran, and it is trying to narrate history not with the intention of staying in the past, nor to boast or humiliate the present, but to build a bright future. The first volume of this collection is Shah Ismail Safavi and the Change of Religion written by Behzad Karimi, the editor of the collection. Contemporary Iran is undeniably culturally and politically influenced by the actions of Shah Ismail I Safavid five hundred years ago. It will not be easy to judge this king like other kings who ruled this land or those who took steps toward the well-being and comfort of the people and the development of the land. By providing some of the most important episodes of Shah Ismail's life, the author has tried to prepare the ground for judging this complex and controversial figure in Iranian history by emphasizing the issue of conversion.
