Derivation of terms (etymology) is a technique which reviews common structure and nature of terms and shows their common base. The author tries to show inveteracy and value of Kurdish language and Lori and Laki dialects through samples of terms related to Avestan, Pehlevi and other languages.

ريشه يابي واژگان (اتيمولوژي) فني است كه ساختار و ماهيت مشترك واژه ها را مورد بررسي قرار مي دهد و ريشه ي مشترك آنها را آشكار مي سازد. نويسنده در اين كتاب نمونه هايي از واژگاني را كه با زبانهاي اوستايي و پهلوي و ديگر زبانها پيوند دارد، آشكار نموده است تا به اين وسيله ديرينگي و ارزش زبان كردي و گويش هاي لري و لكي را نشان دهد.
