داستان كودكان، در زمان هاي قديم، شهر زيبا و سر سبزي بود كه حاكم آن با زن و پسر جوانش در يك قصر زيبا زندگي مي كرد. او حاكمي مهربان و عادل بود و همه او را دوست داشتند. روزي بيمار شد. تمام حكيمان شهر به بالينش آمدند ولي نتوانستند كه او را شفا دهند. تا اينكه يكي ار حكيمان كه باهوش بود به او گفت: "در اعماق جنگل پيرزني زندگي مي كند كه گل خوش عطري دارد كه بوي آن مي تواند تو را بهبود دهد."
