اين داستان درباره سه نسل در يك خانواده است. وقايع داستان از سال 1306 يعني كمتر از دو سال پس از تاجگذاري رضا شاه شروع مي شود و تا نسل سوم ادامه دارد. زندگي نسل اول در دهات اطراف دامغان و دو نسل بعدي در تهران مي گذرد.
