Political-social aspects of violence are scientifically studied and analyzed in the present book, so while defining violence and traditional-sociological theories related, their inefficiency are specified. Violence is considered as an independent phenomenon which is impressed by circumstances of the 20th century and its relationship with political stability, modernism, social changes, the mass media, different political-social groups and phenomena like men, adolescents and the youth, civil disputes and finally government's attitude toward internal opposition are discussed

در كتاب حاضر، سعي شده است ابعاد سياسي-اجتماعي پديده خشونت مورد بررسي و تحليل علمي قرار گيرد. براي همين منظور، ضمن ارائه تعاريف خشونت و تئوريهاي جامعه شناسانه سنتي مربوط به خشونت، عدم كارآمدي آنها مشخص شده است. در ادامه، خشونت به عنوان يك پديده مستقل و متأثر از مقتضيات قرن بيستم مورد توجه قرار گرفته و ارتباط آن با ثبات سياسي، مدرنيزاسيون، تغييرات اجتماعي، رسانه هاي جمعي، گروه ها و پديده هاي مختلف سياسي-اجتماعي از قبيل: مردان، نوجوانان و جوانان، بروز منازعات مدني و بالاخره نحوه برخورد دولت با اپوزيسيون داخلي، به بحث گذارده شده است
