If everything goes smoothly in the colonies, it's time for the mysterious creatures to live in the Dark Forest of the Nine Fortresses: sizzling, balsa, kites, jelly. There the world is divided into two: that of the good solomonas, headed by the venerable Elijah, and that of the rebellious solomonas led by Sathanasie. Daca in colonii totul merge struna, in Padurea Intunecata a celor Noua Cetati a venit vremea cind creaturi misterioase traiesc printre oameni: sinziene, balauri, zmei, iele. Acolo lumea e impartita in doua: cea a solomonarilor buni, in frunte cu venerabilul Ilie, si cea a solomonarilor razvratiti, condusi de Sathanasie. Deasupra tuturor straluceste Amoralul Fotie, singurul care nu trebuie sa dea socoteala nimanui. Ionut, stranepotul Solomonarului Ilie din Colonia Romaneasca, isi urmeaza drumul plin de pericole in mijlocul acestei paduri, infruntind cele mai neasteptate si infricosatoare aventuri, toate pe cale sa dea nastere unui razboi care pluteste in aer. Insa baiatul poarta cu el ceva cu totul deosebit, pe care nici macar noii sai prieteni, razboinica Isidora si cei trei pitici, Mot, Gaicuta si Nasturel, nu-l cunosc: comoara pe care Ionut o pune la bataie de-a lungul acestei istorii adevarate e inima lui neobisnuit de mare si buna.
