Stieg Larsson

Stieg Larsson (1954–2004)

Stieg Larsson was a Swedish journalist and novelist, best known worldwide for his acclaimed Millennium Trilogy, which includes The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest. His gripping crime novels, centered on the unforgettable characters Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist, have sold millions of copies and been adapted into successful films.

Before gaining fame as a novelist, Larsson worked as an investigative journalist and was deeply committed to exposing issues such as right-wing extremism, racism, and social injustice. His strong sense of justice and investigative background gave his novels a sharp edge and social depth that set them apart from traditional crime fiction.

Although he passed away suddenly in 2004, just before the publication of his first novel, Stieg Larsson’s legacy endures. His works not only revitalized Scandinavian crime fiction but also influenced crime writing and popular culture around the globe.
