SAVAK (abbreviation for the State Security and Intelligence Organization) was the secret police, internal security, and intelligence service of Iran during the Pahlavi dynasty. It was established by Mohammad Reza Shah with the assistance of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Mossad in 1957 until Prime Minister Shapour Bakhtiar ordered its dissolution during the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

ساواک (مخفف: سازمان اطلاعات و امنیت کشور) پلیس مخفی، امنیت داخلی و سرویس اطلاعاتی ایران در زمان سلطنت پهلوی بود. توسط محمدرضا شاه و با کمک سازمان اطلاعات مرکزی آمریکا (سیا) و موساد در سال ۱۹۵۷م/ ۱۳۳۵ش تأسیس شد تا اینکه شاپور بختیار، نخست‌وزیر، در جریان وقوع انقلاب ۱۹۷۹م/ ۱۳۵۷ش ایران، دستور انحلال آن را صادر کرد.
