This book is a collection of sociological theories and perspectives, each of which is considered as a perspective and is capable of comprehensively expressing social phenomena in organic connection with other perspectives. Therefore, convergence and paradigm integration are emphasized as the mainstream of contemporary sociology. The book consists of seven chapters. The main topics of the book start from the second chapter. In the second and third chapters, two separate approaches in sociology, that is, perspectives of agreement and conflict, are described respectively. Since both approaches focus on the whole society, the social structure, and the relationships between its components, they can be placed under the title of structuralism. In the fourth chapter, the ideas that are created by structuralist approaches "especially the perspective of conflict" are discussed today. In the final chapters of the book, the theoretical approaches to meaning and action and the aforementioned sociological perspectives are examined and compared according to specific methodologies.

کتاب حاضر، مجموعه‌ای از نظریه‌ها و دیدگاه‌های جامعه‌شناسی است که هریک از نظریه‌ها به عنوان یک چشم‌اندار تلقی شده و در ارتباط و پیوند ارگانیک با سایر چشم‌اندازها، قادر به بیان جامع پدیده‌های اجتماعی است. از این رو بر هم‌گرایی و تلفیق پارادایمی به عنوان جریان اصلی جامعه‌شناسی معاصر تاکید می‌شود. کتاب شامل هفت فصل است. مباحث اصلی کتاب از فصل دوم شروع می‌شود. در فصول دوم و سوم، دو رویکرد مجزا در جامعه‌شناسی یعنی چشم‌اندازهای وفاق و کشمکش به ترتیب شرح داده شده است. از آنجایی که هر دو رویکرد روی کل جامعه، ساختار اجتماعی و روابط مابین اجزای آن تمرکز دارند، می‌توان آنها را زیر عنوان ساختارگرایی جای داد. در فصل چهارم به اندیشه‌هایی پرداخته شده که امروزه مسایل مطرح‌شده از جانب رویکردهای ساختارگرایانه «به ویژه چشم‌انداز کشمکش» ایجاد می‌کنند. در فصل‌های پایانی کتاب نیز رویکردهای معنا و کنش نظری و چشم‌اندازهای جامعه‌شناختی مزبور بر حسب روش‌شناسی خاص بررسی و با هم مقایسه می‌شوند.
