Why should we be bound by a document that was prepared more than two centuries ago by a group of fifty-five mortals? And it was actually signed by thirty people, a considerable number of whom were slaveholders, and ratified in only thirteen states by the votes of less than two thousand men, all long since dead and forgotten?
