Dividing work has an ancient history and most of intellectuals known its importance, but in the modern periods it reaches to its high importance and sociologists and economists are criticising it experimentaly. This book is one of the important works that is creat in this field. In this book his central subject is the personal character relation with society and criticising the division of work in this problem. تقسيم كار تاريخي ديرينه دارد و از ديرباز بسياري از متفكران به اهميت آن واقف بوده اند اما در دوران جديد اهميت و عموميت آن به حد اعلاي خود رسيده و جامعه شناسان و اقتصاددانان به تبيين و تحليل نظري آن پرداختند. يكي از آثار مهمي كه در اين زمينه آفريده شد و اكنون در جامعه شناسي منزلت كلاسيك كسب كرده كتاب حاضر است. دوركيم در اين كتاب نيز موضوع كانوني انديشه خود، يعني مناسبات شخصيت فردي با همبستگي اجتماعي، را دنبال كرده و نقش تقسيم كار در حل اين تنازع را بررسي مي كند. مفاهيم و مقوله هاي جامعه شناختي مهمي چون همبستگي مكانيكي و ارگانيك جامعه، وجدان جمعي، تقدم كل اجتماع بر اجزاي آن، و... ثمره ي اين تحقيق و تعمق او هستند.
