In the Golden Age, one of the high school and director of the school organizes to release a post at the kindergarten that would be occupied by the daughter of an acquaintance. The perfect opportunity is offered by Anisoara Proca, a young educator, when the empty shotgun is displayed at the window of his home, after a night of rest. Things are messing up when Anisoara turns out to be impotent and opposes all the forces of this move, and moreover, has a love affair with the director's son. At the same time, the story of Codreanu, a professor assigned to S., but who wants to arrange a transfer in a big city to be with his wife, Silvia, the fresh graduate of Electrotechnics. In plina Epoca de Aur, unul dintre mai-marii tirgului S. si directorul scolii uneltesc pentru a elibera un post la gradinita ce ar urma sa fie ocupat de fiica unei cunostinte. Ocazia perfecta le-o ofera Anisoara Proca, o tinara educatoare, cind se afiseaza goala pusca la fereastra locuintei sale, in urma unei seri de pomina. Lucrurile se incurca insa cind Anisoara se dovedeste a fi indaratnica si se opune cu toate fortele acestei mutari, ba mai mult, are si o relatie amoroasa cu fiul directorului. In paralel se desfasoara si povestea lui Codreanu, profesor repartizat in S., dar care vrea sa-si aranjeze un transfer intr-un oras mare, pentru a fi alaturi de sotia lui, Silvia, proaspata absolventa de Electrotehnica. Romanul lui Emil Iordache, recent regasit, este o fresca a unui orasel de provincie in comunism, loc unde totul se bazeaza pe relatii si influente, unde orice este posibil, cu conditia sa cunosti pe cine trebuie, iar numai cei cu un curaj nebun indraznesc sa stea impotriva valului.
