بکمن، فردریک

Fredrik Backman (b. 1981)

Fredrik Backman is a Swedish novelist and columnist whose warm and insightful storytelling has earned him international acclaim. He is best known for his debut novel A Man Called Ove (2012), a heartwarming yet bittersweet story about love, loss, and unexpected friendships. The book became a global bestseller and inspired both a Swedish film and the Hollywood adaptation A Man Called Otto (2022).

Backman’s novels often explore themes of community, belonging, and the struggles of ordinary people in everyday life. His other popular works include My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry (2013), Britt-Marie Was Here (2014), and the moving series Beartown (2017) and Us Against You (2018), which delve into the dynamics of small towns, sports culture, and moral choices.

With his blend of humor, empathy, and emotional depth, Backman has become one of Sweden’s most beloved contemporary authors. His books have been translated into dozens of languages and continue to resonate with readers across the world.
