"Mir Nowrouzi is one of the traditional Iranian plays about which various theories have been written. Some consider it related to myths. Some believe that it originated from the play "Kuse Barneshin" and others believe that it was born from the custom of "Omar Sozan". Some believe that the custom of Mir Nowrouzi was also held in the courts of kings, and some others are against it. Many scholars have presented different hypotheses due to their different interpretations of historical documents. Therefore, we consider the time appropriate to start a dialogue, to be together more to test and verify hypotheses with the help of documents. Doubt and research have always been and are tools for human progress, which have clarified many issues in the world so far. The author has tried to look at the hypotheses with skepticism and, by researching and analyzing the Mir Norouzi play, reach a desirable answer, keeping the door of dialogue open so that this matter can be explored further. In this effort, reports of several Mir Norouzi plays in the past century have been studied and their common characteristics have been noted, historical documents of the play have been referred to, and a number of different interpretations have been addressed. In the meantime, Bahram Bayzai’s theory or hypothesis about the Mir Norouzi play has also been verified. Finally, with the help of documents, the origins of the Mir Norouzi play have been traced and an attempt has been made to obtain a desirable definition of it.
