Foroughi's prose still influences the Persian philosophical language in Iran today. He first translated a work by Plato entitled The Wisdom of Socrates and wrote a lengthy introduction. If we consider the translation of this book and its authorial introduction as a new chapter in philosophical expression in Persian, we would not be saying too much and far from the truth. A few years later, he published the first edition of The Wisdom of the Journey in Europe, which was the first concise, coherent, and useful history of philosophy from ancient Greece to the modern era. The language, terms, and definitions that Foroughi had chosen for this unique book were an important effort to show the possibilities of the Persian language in expressing philosophical ideas. Of course, they relied on the support of authentic Persian literary and philosophical texts and works. Apart from the many discussions that have been going on about the authorship, translation, or compilation of this book, Foroughi's mature, stable, moderate, and eloquent prose in this book has influenced not only the field of philosophy but also the general course of development of modern prose writing in Persian.
