The movement of people from one place to another has a history as old as mankind. However, with the formation of nation-states, this transfer came under the special rules and regulations governing different countries. The causes and motivations of moving in different periods were and are different according to various environmental, economic, political, and cultural factors. Therefore, the thinkers in the field of migration have tried to achieve a coherent understanding of international migration beyond these differences. Therefore, the theories of migration, and especially international migration are intellectual efforts that seek to know the regularities behind these different causes. However, with the expansion of the process of globalization in various fields, especially economy, politics, and culture, we are witnessing the weakening of the authority of national governments in the world. The intensification of relations at the global level has had decisive effects on the migration process between national borders. This book is about the major theories about international migration, but since the process of globalization has permeated the lives of all societies in the last few decades, it has finally tried to have an introduction to the theory of migration concerning the process of globalization.
