In these conversations, the author has tried to shed light on the world of Baizai filmmaking and all its margins and ambiguities. But the questions are not limited to the cinema and the concerns and beliefs of the Oval in the field of politics, society, religion, and intellectualism also come up. Beizai speaks frankly and unabashedly about cinema and its people, about literature and modernity, hypocrisy and censorship, and his deep dislike of politics.

گفت‌وگوهایی که شرحشان در این کتاب آمده هم‌سخنی درازمدت نویسنده است با بهرام بیضایی و زنان فیلم‌هایش (1396-1381). نویسنده در این گفت‌وگوها سعی کرده نوری بتاباند بر دنیای فیلم‌سازی بیضایی و همه‌ی حاشیه‌ها و ابهاماتش. اما سوال‌ها محدود به سینما نمی‌ماند و پای دغدغه‌ها و باورهای بیضایی در زمینه‌ی سیاست و جامعه و مذهب و روشنفکری نیز به میان می‌آید. بیضایی صریح و بی‌لکنت درباره‌ی سینما و آدم‌هایش حرف می‌زند، درباره‌ی ادبیات و تجدد، ریاکاری و سانسور، و بیزاری عمیقش از سیاست.
