Stepping into the field of religious film studies is one of the necessities of our time. Re-reading the diverse and extensive fields of film studies based on religious teachings provides the basis for the growth and expansion of film-making currents aligned with our culture. One of these fields is film theory. Talking about the religious theory of the film actually means a theoretical encounter based on the foundations of Islamic rulings with different fields in the theory of the film and examining its theoretical consequences; Something that is discussed in the field of studies called film philosophy, which is the result of philosophical reflections about the film. Although the theory of film has gone through many developments, one of the topics that should be considered is film and reality. An effort has been to avoid falling into the abyss of fashionism and modernity in the re-reading of theories based on our own foundations, which is current in the West as well as in daily life in its scientific tradition. In this article, the theories of film realism are critically examined from the aspect of their philosophical foundations. The central discussion of this review is the relationship between the film and reality. The basic question that is at the center of this research is that by criticizing the foundations of the Islamic ruling base, will the theories remain in their original form or will the criticism of the theory have theoretical and aesthetic consequences?
