Family, as the biggest human social capital, has various functions. By emphasizing the emotional function of the family, Shahid Beheshti considers it an environment with holiness, cohesion, full of love, and the right to choose, and he believes that these characteristics cannot be achieved without fulfilling the emotional function. From his point of view, issues such as guardianship of parents over children, temporary marriage, and even the challenging issue of polygamy, if understood and interpreted correctly, under the influence of this function, not only do not prevent the creation of a healthy and Islamic family but also make the institution of the family as a small human society is always protected from harm and social threats. This book has tried to examine the above three issues after explaining the view of Shahid Beheshti about the institution of the family with an emphasis on the emotional function. Studying this work can be beneficial for researchers in the field of women and family, those interested in the thoughts of Shahid Beheshti, and even people who adhere to religious teachings but are not interested in forming a family.
