The Pre-Socratics book, from the collection of "The Straight History of Philosophy" written by Peter Adamson, is a cheerful and modern account of the philosophical opinions of all prominent Pre-Socratics; From Thales to Heraclitus and even the Sophists. In this work, Adamson tries to give a straightforward and consistent account of what pre-Socratic philosophy is without entering into deep philosophical disputes. After reading this book, the reader, especially the novice reader, can better understand the "problems" that tickled the philosopher's mind 2500 years ago. If you are looking for a combination of philosophy and humor, the book "Pre-Socratics" is a good starting point.
