Although the era of New Ilam was not equal to the flourishing era of Middle Elam in terms of military and culture, it was the era when Ilam emerged again in the politics of the Near East. During this period, Elam was facing an aggressor power such as the Assyrian Empire, which always endangered the political life of Elam. But despite the lower military strength, New Elam showed strength against Assyria and showed admirable stability against the powerful Assyrian army. In this book, using first-hand inscriptional information, the internal situation and external relations of New Ilam have been investigated and an effort has been made to clarify some unknowns in the history of New Ilam. Although the book has a specialized aspect, it is also useful for ordinary readers of the history of Ilam.
