Corporate historiography is a relatively new field in historiography at the global level, and its emergence as an independent field or specialized field dates back to the 1930s, and for many years it was limited to an oral history with the aim of collecting the life stories of successful company managers. Both that delay and being limited to oral history are strictly true for the historiography of entrepreneurship in Iran. In addition, it seems that the rapid growth of modern business in the country during the two decades of the 1340s and 1350s and then the revolution of 1957 have left few opportunities for historical research in this field, and the biased view is still the dominant view on this field of historiography. A view that for a long time was focused only on the exploitative side of entrepreneurship, and now it has taken the opposite path and focused on the weaknesses of state entrepreneurship. In this book, in addition to relying on oral history, the author has used archival sources and by using economic theorizing and examining the history of the Sarcheshme copper industry in the larger framework of the history of the mining industry in Iran, he has succeeded in presenting a critical narrative of the industrialization era in Iran.
