In this book, Federico Finkelstein, a prominent historian of fascism, analyzes why fascists put simple, often hateful lies in place of the truth, and why so many fascists believe these lies. He shows that although traces of lies can be found in most political traditions, lying is the main characteristic of fascism and it is based on these lies that terrible violence is possible. In the 20th century, the supporters of this ideology considered fascist lies as truths embodied in their leaders. Fascist leaders, from Hitler to Mussolini, made these lies both the basis for their rule over the people and the basis for creating a new world; A world where both "enemies" have disappeared and democracy, this ugly heresy, has been destroyed. Fascism, however, is not a historical phenomenon that once happened and ended but has re-echoed in our times. The history of fascism and fascist lies continues in new forms, and by falsifying lies, hatred of the "other" and people's democracy is fueled.
