The book "Al-Tanziyeh La'amal al-Shabiyyah" is one of the few books written in its time on the subject of mourning reform. This book is based on one of the most controversial events in the history of Shiism, which caused many scandals in the Najaf seminary nearly a century ago. As long as the opponents of this book refer to it as the great sedition. Of course, with the passage of time, the anger and bigotry of the opponents of this book decreased and apparently, the controversies ended, but the issues that this book deals with, still bring many debates in the Shia religious community.

کتاب «التنزیه لاعْمال الشبیه» یکی از معدود کتاب هایی است که در زمان خویش با موضوع اصلاح عزاداری به نگارش درآمده است. این کتاب محور یکی از جنجالی ترین رویدادهای تاریخ تشیع است که نزدیک به یک قرن پیش حواشی فراوانی در حوزه علمیه نجف به همراه داشت؛ تاجایی که مخالفان این کتاب از آن با عنوان فتنه بزرگ یاد می کنند. البته با گذشت زمان از خشم و تعصب مخالفان این کتاب کاسته شد و ظاهرا جنجال ها به پایان رسید ولی موضوعاتی که این کتاب به آن پرداخته است، هنوز نیز در جامعه مذهبی شیعه مباحثات فراوانی را به همراه دارند.
