This book is a translation of the long introduction of the book "Summary of the Prison Notebooks" by Quentin Hoare and Geoffrey Nowell Smith and provides a narrative of Gramsci's life and times, especially about the grounds of the formation of fascism in Italy and the study of its external and internal factors.
