Zen is a Buddhist mysticism, in China and Japan it has created its own ways and methods that distinguish it from other mysticisms. Zen does not have a specific theory or dogmatic principles, but rather the art of watching the heart and the art of pain and enlightenment. This enlightenment or satori is manifested and realized in arts such as acting (no), poetry (haiku), painting (sumi-e), flower arranging (ikebana), archery (kyuwudu), and the like. ذن یک آیین عرفان بودایی است، در چین و ژاپن راه و روش هایی خاص خود پدید آورده که آن را از عرفان های دیگر متمایز میکند. ذن نه نظریه ی خاصی دارد و نه اصول جزمی خاصی، بل که هنر نظاره ی دل و هنر هم دردی و روشن شدگی است. این روشن شدگی یا ساتوری، در هنرهایی چون بازیگری (نو) شعر (هایکو) ، نقاشی (سومی- ئه) ، گل آرایی (ایکه بانا) ، و کمان گیری (کیوودو) و مانند این ها تجلی و تحقق می یابد، و رهرو ذن از این طریق با تمام هستی، با کل هستی عالم و آدم ارتباط می یابد و از این راه به بینش سر حیات راه می یابد.
