Revolution in South America is a work related to Augusto Boal's youth and before the theory of the theater known as "The Oppressed". However, in this play, the roots of Boal's thought can be traced to what he would later call the theater of the oppressed. A play with ironic nettles (sarcasm) that chooses the main identity of Brazilian culture, that is football, as the structure of the play. In an ironic combination, he calls his work "documentary theater in two halves"... The revolution in South America is the story of a citizen named Jose. A person from the working class who ends up unemployed and has no end but a laughable death.
