أيّ مدينة لا تدلّنا امرأةٌ منها على أسرارها الأولى؛ ستظلّ مدينةً مجهولة بالنسبة إلينا؛ حتى لو عشنا فيها دهرنا؛ أو زرناها مرّةً تلو مرّة. “كلّما تذكّرت مدينتي؛ أتذكّر منها شيئين: أمّي؛ وابنة جيراننا التي أحببتها مطلع مراهقتي؛ ثمّ أتذكر.. ما تبقّى من معالمها وأسواقها وإيقاع الحياة فيها..” بالحبّ وحده تبوح المرأة عن نفسها وعن أسرار مكانها؛ بالحبّ وحده تستمرّ المدن على وجه البسيطة؛ وبالكراهية يقتتل الرجال؛ وتدول دولهم؛ فلا يربحون أزمنتهم؛ ولا وجوه المدن – النساء المُشتهاة..
