Kanizu is a collection of short stories by Moniru Ravanipur, published in English translation by Hirad Dinavari and others by Mazda Publishers as part of the Bibliotheca Iranica: Persian Fiction in Translation series. Through innovative and at times experimental narratives, the book explores the lives of Iranian women, the local culture of southern Iran—especially the author’s birthplace, Jofreh—and the complexities of modern life.

The stories approach marginalized spaces and less-heard voices with a bold perspective, employing abstract narrative techniques to convey deep psychological and social layers.
