Shiite sects are among the sects for which accurate information and a correct understanding of their thoughts and beliefs are lacking. Because the books of nations and al-Nahl were compiled by Sunni writers throughout history, accurate beliefs of Shiite and Shia sects and sects have not been found in these sources. Therefore, an accurate understanding of Shiite sects and sects based on their first-hand sources is one of the necessities of research in this era. With the expansion of communication means, knowledge of the views of sects and sects has become necessary for all researchers and students. The book A Brief Introduction to Shiite Sects identifies the sects that have been known as Shia in history or have branched off from Shia and expressed their various opinions.

فرقه‌‌های شیعه از جمله مذاهبی هستند که اطلاعات دقیق و شناخت صحیح از تفکرات و عقاید آنها کم است. زیرا همیشه و در طول تاریخ، کتب ملل و نحل به دست نویسندگان اهل‌سنت تدوین شده و عقاید دقیقی از فرق و مذاهب شیعه و تشیع در این منابع نیامده است. بنابراین شناخت درست فرقه‌ها و مذاهب شیعه که بر اساس منابع دست اول خودشان باشد از ضروریات تحقیق در این زمانه است. با گسترش وسایل ارتباطی، اطلاع از دیدگاه‌های فرق و مذاهب برای عموم پژوهشگران و دانشجویان ضرورت یافته است. در کتاب درآمدی بر فرق تشیع به صورت مختصر، فرقی که در تاریخ به عنوان شیعه شناخته شده و یا از شیعه انشعاب یافته‌اند، شناسایی و آرای مختلف آنها را بیان کرده اند.
