The present book is a compact narrative of the dynamics of the Dari Persian language and its 1,200-year movement, which begins with the effort to stabilize and organize the Iranian identity and moves towards the spiritual growth and revival of the Dari Persian language. It presents a part of this thousand-year effort in the life history of three Persian hypertexts (Shahnameh, Masnavi, Divan Hafez) as the most stable Iranian cultural events and tries to provide an authentic guide to understand how and why Persian hypertexts developed or not. This book can be a small step to answer the long-standing question, which Persian literary masterpiece has a higher rank?

کتاب حاضر روایتی فشرده است از پویایی زبان پارسی دری و پویش هزارودویست‌ساله‌ی آن، که از تلاش برای پایدارسازی و سامان‌بخشی هویت ایرانی آغاز می‌شود و به‌سوی بالندگی معنوی و ورجاوندی زبان پارسی دری فرا می‌رود. بخشی از این تکاپوی هزارساله را در تاریخ حیاتِ سه ابرمتن پارسی (شاهنامه، مثنوی، دیوان حافظ) به‌مثابه پایدارترین رویدادهای فرهنگی ایرانی ارائه می‌دهد و تلاش دارد دستمایه‌ی معتبری برای فهم چگونگی و چرایی فرهمندشدن یا نشدن ابرمتن‌های پارسی فراهم سازد. این کتاب می‌تواند گام کوچکی باشد برای پاسخ به این پرسش دیرینه که کدام شاهکار ادبی پارسی، رتبه‌ی والاتری دارد؟
