This book did not contain appendices (chapters 17-21). In these appendices, the story of a judge is not narrated, but they recounted events that happened before the establishment of the kingdom, and that is why at the end of the book, after returning from exile, have been added. They reconstruct ancient traditions and had a long literary or pre-literary history before being included here. The origin of chapters 17-18 is a Danian tradition about the migration of the tribe of Dan and its sacred building It has been transformed with a negative charge. In chapters 19-21, the two traditions of the saints of Mizpah and Bethel, which were extended to all of Israel, are combined, these traditions, which may have had a Benjaminian origin, in Judah in the opposite direction to the kingdom.
